This tour is full of contrasts - compelling tales of the harsh lives of the convicts combined with the breathtaking scenery of the Tasman Peninsula. Our passionate and knowledgeable Tasmanian driver guides entertain you with personal insights and information about local agriculture, wildlife and other points of interest during the coach tour and are on hand to assist you throughout the day.

Departing from Hobart, we travel across the Tasman Bridge, into the Coal River Valley (an award-winning wine region) and on to the historic town of Richmond for a short photo stop at the famous convict-built Richmond Bridge. We continue on to the breathtaking Tasman Peninsula, an area abound with natural beauty and amazing coastal scenery. Be in awe of the wonderful views from Pirates Bay Lookout and witness the life-size bronze replica of the infamous Eaglehawk Neck Dog Line.

Arriving at Port Arthur, with pre-arranged entry we visit the interpretation centre with its interactive exhibits and displays and follow the harrowing life of a convict. Join one of the complimentary site talks, then wander through the stunning English style gardens where more than 30 restored buildings and ruins are available to explore. See sights like the Penitentiary, a former granary and flour mill, the separate prison, Commandant's House and Church. Purchase lunch or enjoy your own picnic lunch with plenty of time for quiet contemplation in the beautifully landscaped grounds. Relax and enjoy a cruise on Carnarvon Bay around the Isle of the Dead, where you will disembark and enjoy a 1-hour guided walking tour around the Island. On our return to Hobart, enjoy a brief stop at Tasmanian Chocolate Foundry where your senses will be in over-drive as you browse amongst the hand-made chocolate gifts. Using the finest Belgian coverture chocolate, there is something for everyone. You can even watch the chocolates being made from the showroom!
