Itinerary

Day 1: Perth – Cervantes (B)

After pick-up from the Garde Hotel / Warders Hotel, travel north along the coast to Lancelin. Here, enjoy time among the high, snow-white sand dunes and try sandboarding down the slopes — a fun and active experience in one of Western Australia’s most striking dune landscapes.

Continue to the entrance of Nambung National Park, home to the famous Pinnacles Desert. The Pinnacles are among the most visited natural wonders in Western Australia and rise from a flat, almost otherworldly desert landscape. During a walk in the soft light of the late afternoon, thousands of bizarre limestone pillars, some up to five metres high, create breathtaking photo opportunities. This is pure nature — and a silence you can almost hear.

Accommodation: Cervantes Pinnacles Motel, Cervantes

Day 2: Cervantes – Geraldton (B)

This morning is dedicated to the sea lions of the beautiful Turquoise Coast. After a short boat ride, you arrive near a sea lion colony. Guests who wish may enter the water for the unforgettable opportunity to swim with these playful marine animals — a truly special wildlife encounter.

Afterwards, continue north to Geraldton. In the city centre, visit the architecturally interesting St Francis Xavier Cathedral. Later, enjoy an overview of the port city from Mount Scott, which is also home to the HMAS Sydney II Memorial, commemorating the victims of the warship that sank off the Western Australian coast.

Accommodation: Hospitality Motel, Geraldton

Day 3: Geraldton – Kalbarri (B)

Sometimes glowing bubble-gum pink, sometimes lilac and occasionally even red — the waters of Hutt Lagoon, located between Port Gregory and Kalbarri, can offer an extraordinary sight. Its unusual colour is created by the extremely high salt content, with the intensity changing depending on the season, time of day and weather conditions.

Continue to Kalbarri National Park. The rugged coastal formations here are of impressive beauty. There is the opportunity to enjoy a walk along the coastal cliffs to several scenic viewpoints. Later, visit Meanarra Hill, where sweeping views over Gantheaume Bay and Kalbarri provide a beautiful overview of the region.

Accommodation: Kalbarri Edge Resort, Kalbarri

Day 4: Kalbarri – Monkey Mia (B)

Today, return to Kalbarri National Park to visit The Loop and Z-Bend. A walk to Nature’s Window rewards you with a breathtaking view down into the Murchison Gorge — one of the most iconic sights in the region.

Depending on the season, the drive through the national park and towards the Shark Bay World Heritage Area may also reveal Western Australia’s famous wildflowers. In the late afternoon, arrive in Monkey Mia, home of the famous dolphins that voluntarily swim close to shore on many days of the year.

In the evening, enjoy a short guided walk with a local Aboriginal guide. Under Western Australia’s intense starry sky, listen to Dreamtime stories and the sounds of the didgeridoo — a memorable cultural experience in a very special setting.

Accommodation: Monkey Mia Dolphin Resort, Monkey Mia

Day 5: Monkey Mia (B/L)

Today, explore the Shark Bay World Heritage Area on a full-day Kayak & Wildlife Adventure Tour, guided by a knowledgeable local Aboriginal guide. Learn about important spiritual places, traditional connections to Country and the unique flora and fauna of the area.

After the paddling adventure, enjoy the chance to swim and snorkel in shallow, protected waters. With a little luck, you may spot turtles, rays or even the rare dugong. To end the day, relax with a soothing soak in the warm springs at Peron Homestead.

Accommodation: Monkey Mia Dolphin Resort, Monkey Mia

Day 6: Monkey Mia – Carnarvon (B)

This morning, you have the opportunity to experience the famous Monkey Mia dolphin encounter from close range and learn fascinating information about these intelligent marine animals.

The Shark Bay Interpretive Centre provides many interesting insights into the World Heritage area. Continue with stops at unique Shell Beach and Hamelin Pool, known for its stromatolites — some of the oldest living forms on Earth. Impressions of the Australian outback accompany you on today’s journey to Carnarvon.

Accommodation: Hospitality Motel, Carnarvon

Day 7: Carnarvon – Exmouth / Ningaloo Reef (B)

This morning, enjoy a relaxed drive to Coral Bay, located at the southern end of Ningaloo Reef. Many ocean lovers consider the underwater world of Ningaloo to be among the most diverse in Australia.

The reef lies close to shore and can be discovered with fins and snorkel or during a glass-bottom boat excursion. It is home to many forms of marine life, including corals, rare sea stars, crabs, crayfish and more than 500 species of fish.

In the late afternoon, continue to Exmouth. With an average of around 3,500 hours of sunshine per year, Exmouth is considered one of the sunniest places on Earth.

Accommodation: Potshot Resort, Exmouth

Day 8: Exmouth (B/L)

Today is dedicated to the fascinating marine world of Ningaloo Reef. Depending on the season, your experience will focus on one of the region’s unforgettable ocean adventures.

March to July: Whale Shark Swim Tour
Experience the adventure of a lifetime as you join a Whale Shark Swim Tour from Exmouth. Swim with the gentle giants of the ocean, snorkel over Ningaloo Reef and discover the rich marine life of this World Heritage-listed coastline. Lunch and reef exploration are included as part of this full-day experience.

August to September: Humpback Whale Swim Tour
During the humpback whale migration season, join an unforgettable marine wildlife tour with the chance to encounter these magnificent animals. When conditions allow, there may be the opportunity for an optional in-water interaction with humpback whales, guided by experienced crew and subject to strict safety and wildlife regulations.

October to February: Ningaloo Reef Coral Viewing & Snorkel Tour
Outside the whale shark and humpback whale swim seasons, enjoy a reef-focused Ningaloo experience by glass-bottom boat. Discover coral gardens and colourful marine life from the boat, with the opportunity to snorkel in the clear waters of the reef when conditions allow. Depending on the day, you may also see turtles, reef sharks, rays and a variety of tropical fish.

Whichever seasonal experience applies, today offers a memorable encounter with the unique marine environment that makes Ningaloo Reef one of Western Australia’s greatest natural treasures.

Day 9: Exmouth (B)

Today, travel into Cape Range National Park. From Vlamingh Head Lighthouse, enjoy sweeping views across the North West Cape, Ningaloo Reef and the powerful antennas of the Harold E. Holt Naval Communication Station.

During a walk in Mandu Mandu Gorge, keep an eye out for rare black-footed rock wallabies. The national park is shaped by rugged limestone ranges, deep gorges and a coastline lined with 50 kilometres of fine sandy beaches. Turquoise Bay provides the perfect setting to relax, swim, snorkel or simply take in the impressions of the past days.

Accommodation: Potshot Resort, Exmouth

Day 10: Exmouth – Geraldton (B)

Today, say farewell to this fantastic part of Western Australia. Travel south along the Coral Coast and return to Geraldton.

Accommodation: Hospitality Motel, Geraldton

Day 11: Geraldton – Perth Airport (B)

After an enjoyable journey through Western Australian farmland, travel via Moora to New Norcia, the only Benedictine monastic town in Western Australia. With its distinctive Spanish-influenced architecture and peaceful atmosphere, New Norcia is one of the state’s most unique historic places.

Set in a beautifully chosen landscape, the town holds great cultural and historical significance. During your visit, discover its remarkable heritage, mission history and architectural character, which make New Norcia a fascinating final cultural stop on the journey.

Before reaching Perth, enjoy a relaxed wine tasting in the Swan Valley, Western Australia’s oldest wine region. This final stop offers a pleasant way to reflect on the many impressions of the journey while enjoying a taste of one of the state’s most historic wine areas.

In the late afternoon, continue to Perth Airport, where the tour ends at approximately 5:30 pm. Please ensure your onward flight is booked with sufficient time after arrival at the airport.
